Kite runner(chapter 8)

In this chapter, Amir is faced with the guilt and betrayal he caused from the previous chapters. This results in him being more agitated and upset. Hassan is now doing his chores and retreating back to the hut. Amir tells Ali and Baba that he's sick and is just sleeping it off. Later on, Baba asks Amir about going on a trip. He agrees so they can have father-son time however Baba invites his siblings and Amir cousins. Fast forward to Hassan wanting to play with Amir, but he's choosing to not play with him or conversate with him unless he has too. He wishes Hassan would just go away. He asks Baba can "they get new servants" and Baba gets anger. Amir regrets asking such a question. Amir wants Hassan to punish him but Hassan is not understanding why he's acting in such a manner. Amir celebrates his 13 birthday and his father throws a huge party. While greeting every guest that walks through the door, Assef arrives. Amir doesn't want to greet or acknowledge him but he is forced by his father. Assef stands in front of his parents and they seem afraid of him. He gifts Amir a book and invites him to play volleyball with them, but Amir declines. Later on that night, Amir has a chat with Rahim and I learn he once was going to get married to Hazara women. But couldn't because of his family's beliefs. It reminds me of Amirs and Hassans Relationship. After that Hassan is spotted serving Assef and his friends a drink.
