chapter 9 & 10(kite runner)

I literally can't stress enough how anger this chapter 9 made me. Ok, In chapter 9, Amir starts the chapter by opening his presents and stating how he received two presents from Baba. A rare bike and a watch. However, those gifts were genuine enough for him. Rahim Khan's gift was more cherishable in his eyes, especially after he told Amir about his almost marriage. Amir goes on a ride on his bike and when he arrives back home he receives a gift from Ali and Hassan. The gift was an expensive and lovely gift, but Amir didn't think he was deserving of it. So Amir plans to put some money under Hassan's pillow. A meeting is called and Hassan admits he stole the money. This is the part that enrages me. Amir says nothing and just sits there and lets Hassan be at fault. However, Baba forgives him and this is a shock to Amir since his father stated that theft the "biggest sin".However, Ali says they're moving out and Baba begs him not too. It can also be inferred that Ali knows about the Hassan situation. Also, Ali and Hassan know that Amir knew about what happened. Now in chapter 10,5 years have past and Amir an Baba is being smuggled to Jalalabad. Kabul is now a different place that has been divided into those who tell on others and those who don't.No one can have an opinion because if they did and decided to share it. They'll end in jail and the people who policed such a rule were the "radius" or comrades. While on the trip over Amir witness a Russian soldier trying to negotiate a minute with the women in the car. However, Baba puts a stop to it. When they arrive at the checkpoint the truck is "broke down" and Karim knew about beforehand but didn't say anything to baba which enrages him. I also meet Kamal who is quiet and has been raped before. Fast forward to the end of the chapter Kamal's father gets upset and shoots himself in the head.
